On Tuesday, Oct. 23rd FCC Commissioners Jonathan Adelstein and Michael Copps will join Caucus Chair Vin Di Bona and industry veteran Lucille Salhany at Emerson College for a public meeting about the impact of horizontal and vertical integration on the television industry.
The FCC Commissioners will explain the media ownership debate from their perspective and then field questions from the moderator and audience, then Di Bona, Salhany and possibly others will explain the media ownership debate from their perspective. While the Caucus has a strong position on ownership, this is not an opportunity to beat up on big media - rather it will attempt to lay out the critical issues and add industry impact to the current media ownership debate.
Before the meeting the Commissioners will be meeting with the Editorial Board at the Boston Globe, and we hope for other media coverage as well.
The event will take place from 2 - 4pm at the Bordy Theatre on the Emerson campus and is open to members of the Emerson community and the public at large.
