Broadcasting & Cable is reporting that the FCC has re-opened its review of minority ownership - the B&C article is here: http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6464902.html and the FCC page is www.fcc.gov. The link to Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking is at http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-07-136A1.doc.

This could be a good opportunity for those concerned about both vertical and horizontal integration to weigh in on the impact of a closed marketplace on new producers, writers and directors - many of whom may be women and minorities.

FCC Commissioners Copps and Adelstein support broader ownership, and Commissioner Tate has expressed concern about the lack of diversity in the media industry.
